Edibles
Cannabis ingested through food or drink. Slow onset, long arc, easier to misjudge.
What edibles are, and how they behave.
Edibles route cannabinoids through the digestive tract and liver, which converts THC into 11-hydroxy-THC — a stronger, longer-acting metabolite. That's why a 10 mg gummy can feel meaningfully different from a 10 mg puff: the body sees a different molecule, on a different timeline.
Onset is slow (45 minutes to two hours) and the peak arrives late. The standard adult-use serving in legal markets is 5–10 mg of THC; many people respond well to 2.5 mg. Microdosed edibles in the 1–5 mg range are increasingly common and worth starting with if you're new or returning after a break.
Read the label twice — package totals are not per-serving totals. A 100 mg bag may be ten 10 mg pieces. CBD-forward and 1:1 ratios (CBD:THC) shift the experience toward calm rather than intoxication. Effects can last four to eight hours; don't restack inside that window.
